Can I use TDS as a landlord?
TDS (Tenancy Deposit Scheme) is a government approved deposit scheme company.
We offer an easy way to register your deposit to TDS directly from COHO. This is available in 2 places in the app:
- The Deposit Management panel of any tenancy
- Once the move in monies have been registered as paid, within the Onboarding process of a tenant.
If you’re a landlord and want to use our TDS integration you must complete the following steps:
- Make sure that the properties that are owned by you are marked as owned on the Property Ownership panel on each property.
- You can then either choose to register the deposit on the Deposit Management panel at tenancy level or you can register the deposit whilst on the ‘Move in Monies’ stage of a new Onboarding when the move-in-monies were registered as paid.
- COHO will process the deposit with TDS through the COHO Head Office TDS account.
- Once your first deposit has been registered in this manner, you will be able to go to the Onboarding settings cog > TDS - Deposit Registration and create a user (there will be a button for it) if you want to access the TDS information through the TDS dashboard. It is important to note that when creating a user, you cannot use an existing TDS email.
